Estimates for when the outcome will be revealed have varied widely, with some suggesting this summer, while sports lawyer Tom Murray recently indicated the saga could drag on for another two years. Meanwhile, City have continued to spend heavily and collect trophies, winning both domestic cup competitions this season despite being pipped to the Premier League title by Arsenal. Manager Pep Guardiola will depart after the final-day clash against Aston Villa.
Pundits have offered contrasting views. TalkSPORT's Simon Jordan highlighted City's financial advantage, saying: 'It's lovely if you're Manchester City, when you can dip into the transfer market in January and buy the best two players in the division...
