Man Arrested After Car Hits Five in Nottinghamshire

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after five people were struck by a car in a town centre in Nottinghamshire, police have confirmed. The incident occurred in Arnold shortly before 1:10am on Saturday, leaving one man with life-threatening injuries who remains critically ill in hospital. Four other men sustained less serious injuries.

Details of the Incident

Nottinghamshire police believe that a red Vauxhall Astra was deliberately driven at a group of individuals following an altercation in the town centre a short time earlier. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot but was later detained. A 40-year-old man is currently in custody.

Authorities have stated that counter-terrorism officers are not involved in the investigation, and there is no indication of any ongoing threat to the wider public.

Our investigation remains ongoing, and we are keeping an open mind while these extensive inquiries continue.”
