Love Island star Sean Fitzgerald has already tasted the TV limelight and has a special plan to 'scare' his fellow Islanders when they are sleeping or kissing. The 25-year-old contestant appeared in an Irish language docuseries titled Gluin Z, which translates to Generation Z, on TG4 in 2025. The four-part series explored issues facing young people in Ireland, their cultural attitudes, and everyday realities.
Sean, known as Fitzy in the programme, explained his involvement in the documentary was due to his dual roles as a Gaelic footballer and a primary school teacher. Alongside teaching and sports, he boasts an active TikTok account with nearly 100,000 followers, which led to his Love Island scouting after he posted a video outlining his Islander antics.
In the video, Sean proposed scaring sleeping or kissing couples by army crawling across the floor and jumping up with a shout. He demonstrated the move, saying, 'Can you imagine? They're never going to kiss again. It might come across as creepy, but who cares? It's funny.' When asked if he still plans to execute this in the villa, he vowed, 'That's the plan and there's lots more to come!'
Sean aims to be the villa's joker, stating, 'I don't think there's been anyone with good craic and who is a bit tapped on the show before. I want to bring that to the villa.' He seeks a partner who shares his humour and is 'as weird as I am,' preferably with a Liverpool accent. He dislikes cockiness and two-faced people, saying, 'There's a fine line between confidence and cockiness, and when people are on the side of cockiness, it's very off-putting.'
His Irish charm is another asset. The Galway-based Islander plans to use his accent to his advantage, declaring, 'The Irish have a charm and I will be using it.' Love Island returns Monday 1st June at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
