Lorraine Kelly made a dramatic return to ITV on Monday, leaving her co-stars speechless as she teased a potential appearance on the upcoming series of Celebrity Traitors.
Return to Good Morning Britain
During the May 4 episode of Good Morning Britain, hosts Ranvir Singh and Rob Rinder welcomed Lorraine back to the ITV daytime schedule after several weeks off air due to broadcaster cuts. Ranvir exclaimed, "The wonderful Queen of daytime, Lorraine Kelly, hoorah! [She] is back after 9.30. I wish I was near you, I'd give you a big old hug."
Lorraine responded warmly, saying, "It's really weird we're not able to do that. It's so good to see you two, it's fantastic!"
Celebrity Traitors Bombshell
Ranvir then playfully expressed disappointment that Lorraine was not part of the initial Celebrity Traitors line-up. However, Lorraine hinted at a surprise twist: "Apparently there's somebody else going in a wee bit later on, so I can neither confirm nor deny. I'll just leave that [there]," leaving Ranvir and Rob visibly shocked.
Later, during the entertainment segment, Ranvir commented, "She's the Queen of Scotland and the Queen of daytime, it would be remiss not to have her there." Rishi Davda added, "That was a proper tease… I think it would be fantastic."
Celebrity Traitors Series Details
The second series of Celebrity Traitors will air on the BBC later this year. Twenty-one famous faces will head to the Traitors castle to play a game of deception and betrayal, competing for a cash prize of up to £100,000 for charity.
The confirmed line-up includes Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha'la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E. Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft, and Sharon Rooney.
Filming has already begun in Scotland. Show boss Stephen Lambert confirmed that the Secret Traitor twist from the civilian series will not return, stating, "[It was] different, but it wasn't something we wanted to keep going with because it was a clever way of signalling we were doing something different, but I think the pleasure of the show is [that] the audience know who the Traitors are."
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1 at 9.30am, while Celebrity Traitors returns to BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
