Filming for the highly anticipated seventh series of Line of Duty is underway in Belfast, with cast members Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar spotted on set at Custom House Square. The trio were seen filming an intense active shooter scene, with McClure wielding a firearm in police protective gear and Compston sporting visible blood on his head.
The scene also features Adrian Dunbar as Superintendent Ted Hastings and Owen Teale as Chief Constable Philip Osborne, who appeared with a bloodied head injury. Osborne is one of the most powerful figures in the series, dogged by corruption allegations.
According to Belfast Live, the new series will see AC-12 disbanded and reconstituted as the Inspectorate of Police Standards. Against this backdrop, Arnott, Fleming and Hastings are handed their most sensitive case yet.
Show creator Jed Mercurio said: 'Everyone involved in Line of Duty feels enormous gratitude to the show's fans. We're privileged to have had so many of you follow the ups and downs of AC-12 over six previous seasons, and we couldn't be more delighted to be returning for a seventh. Corruption in this country is supposed to have come to an end while Line of Duty was off air, so I've been forced to use my imagination.'
All six series of Line of Duty are available to stream on BBC iPlayer, with the seventh series set to air on BBC One and iPlayer next year.
