Will Levis Throws Two Picks In Practice After Moms Interview

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis threw two interceptions in practice on Tuesday, just hours after his mother gave a revealing interview about his draft night experience. Levis, selected 33rd overall in the 2023 NFL draft, struggled during team drills, with one pick returned for a touchdown by the defense.

The former Kentucky standout had been projected as a top-15 pick but slid to the second round, a fall that he described as 'tough' but ultimately positive. 'When I saw that they traded up for me, that alone was telling that they wanted me,' Levis said after being drafted.

Levis's mother, Beth, told reporters that her son was 'a crying mess' when he finally got the call from Tennessee. The family had returned to Connecticut after the first round and were in airport clothes when the Titans traded up to select him.

The 6ft 4in, 230lb Levis has prototypical size and a strong arm but has been inconsistent with accuracy and decision-making. He is expected to learn behind veteran Ryan Tannehill and will not be rushed into action.

Levis's performance in practice comes as the Titans prepare for their preseason opener. Head coach Mike Vrabel said the rookie needs to improve his ball security and decision-making, but remains confident in his long-term potential.
