Leigh Francis, the 53-year-old TV star best known for Celebrity Juice, has revealed a nasty scratch near his eye after a fan got too enthusiastic during his DJ set at the Sound Bites festival in Syon Park, London.
Francis took to TikTok to show the injury, explaining that he had entered the crowd to get close to fans. 'Someone was overcome with joy, so that was a nice feeling, and she went “I love you” and put her hands towards my face and her thumbnail, which was quite long, did that,' he said, pointing to a red scratch running from near his eye along his temple.
He added: 'Could’ve been worse, could’ve gone in my eye but yeah bit of a naughty one that, innit?' Fans reacted with shock, with one calling it 'not acceptable', while another joked: 'When it comes to being a fan, she nailed it.'
In a follow-up video, Francis described the injury as a 'war wound' and said it represented 'the hard work and dedication that goes into being a performer in the DJ scene.' He thanked his supporters and vowed to continue honing his craft.
Francis has not appeared on TV recently, with talks for shows like Through The Keyhole and Celebrity Juice reportedly halted. He previously said he hasn't pitched any TV ideas in ages, adding: 'It’s gone mad, you can’t make anything without it upsetting people.'
