The full details of Kyle Sandilands' $100 million contract with Kiis FM have been made public after a federal court lifted a restriction on access to the document. The shock jock is suing ARN Media for the remaining $85 million of the 10-year deal after the broadcaster terminated it, alleging he breached his contract by repeatedly berating colleagues, including co-host Jackie O Henderson, and the audience on air.
The contract, marked as a confidential exhibit, reveals Sandilands' extensive demands. These included a car parking space at the North Sydney studio, airport transfers in a Mercedes Sprinter when broadcasting from Melbourne, and return business air fares plus a suite at a five-star hotel. He also received a flight allowance of $120,000 per year, paid monthly at $10,000.
Sandilands was not required to read news reports, as the show was described as 'not a news program,' and the company agreed not to increase its news content. However, he could provide his opinion on news items. His annual payment consisted of $7.4 million in cash, a $200,000 consultancy fee, and $500,000 in contra air time. In return, he was obligated to deliver live programs, 'best of' shows, 797 live reads, comedy segments, public appearances, pre-recorded commercials, and social media posts.
Other clauses gave Sandilands the right to audit the station's books for bonus payments and required ARN to inform him if Henderson improved her terms. He was also required to pre-record 10 emergency programs per year in case of illness and redo any 'defective' programming. The contract was signed before the show breached decency rules in 2025 by broadcasting explicit sexual content.
Justice Angus Stewart has set a 10-day hearing for October. Meanwhile, Sandilands teased a new project on Instagram, telling fans he was 'coming back, bigger than ever' without revealing details.
