YouTube star KSI has faced widespread backlash after a resurfaced video showed him making a crude joke about hitting a pregnant woman. The clip, which has since been removed, was viewed over 15 million times.
In the video, dating back nearly a decade, KSI's mother advised him to always wear a condom. He responded: 'If she gets pregnant I’ll just punch the baby.' His mother rebuked him, and he laughed, claiming he was joking.
Abuse campaigners condemned the remarks. Veronica Oakeshott of Women’s Aid told The Sun: 'Comments like this are never acceptable... It’s a sad truth that pregnant women are even more likely than other women to experience domestic abuse.'
A source close to KSI said he regrets his 'stupid and wrong' comment, adding that he has matured significantly since then. This is not his first controversy; in 2023 he apologised for a racial slur against South Asians.
KSI, real name Olajide Olatunji, is a Britain's Got Talent judge with an estimated net worth of £80 million. He co-founded Prime Hydration and Misfits Boxing, and recently acquired a 20% stake in Dagenham & Redbridge FC.
