The King and Queen continued their two-day visit to Northern Ireland on Wednesday, with Charles receiving an unexpected souvenir from a seagull and Camilla trying her hand at pulling a pint of Guinness.
Royal Seagull Encounter
During a visit to Newcastle, County Down, the King joked about a seagull that left its mark on the bottom of his suit jacket. The incident occurred as he toured the seaside town to celebrate the work of local charities. Charles took the mishap in stride, laughing off the splattering.
Queen's Guinness Pour
Meanwhile, in Royal Hillsborough, the Queen brought traffic to a halt as she participated in a walkabout, meeting well-wishers and children from local schools. At Arthur's Coffee House, she poured a pint of Guinness, quipping that she was "not quite the expert, but my husband is." She also spoke with uniformed members of the Hillsborough Fort Guard, which was recently restored to full strength for the first time in 130 years.
King's Community Cinema Visit
Earlier, the King visited Newcastle Community Cinema, where he was presented with a "VIP" movie ticket. The cinema has been screening films since 2009. Charles also praised "amazing" volunteers at the Pantry Foodbank, where he packed boxes of groceries. He filled two boxes with bread, vegetables, tinned goods, and toiletries, and made volunteers laugh by touching a toilet roll and declaring it "very important."
The engagements marked the second day of the royal couple's visit to Northern Ireland, which has been filled with community interactions and light-hearted moments.
