Netflix’s live roast of Kevin Hart on Mother’s Day delivered a night of sharp comedy and surprise guests, with Tom Brady, Katt Williams, and Lizzo among those taking aim at the comedian. Hosted by Shane Gillis at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, the event featured a star-studded audience including Jennifer Lopez, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos.
Tom Brady made a memorable appearance, presenting Hart with a 'newborn-size' Knicks jersey and joking about his 2017 Las Vegas cheating scandal. Brady compared his seven Super Bowl rings to Hart’s two 'Ride Along' credits, quipping, 'I guess it wouldn’t be a Kevin Hart project if it wasn’t a shitty sequel.' He also targeted Hart’s wife, Eniko Parrish, with a crude remark.
Katt Williams, dubbed the 'Roastmaster General,' delivered a blistering set, calling Hart the 'crack baby that could' and comparing him to Martha Stewart 'without the respect of the Black community.' Williams revealed that Hart’s jokes at the Tom Brady roast prompted him to get a colonoscopy, which detected his cancer, allowing him to attend and 'shit all over' Hart.
Chelsea Handler took aim at the dais, questioning host Shane Gillis’s appearance and past controversies, and joking about Tony Hinchcliffe’s political affiliations and closeted persona. She praised Hart as someone who 'respects women' and loves his wife.
Lizzo appeared as a surprise guest, playing the flute and honoring Hart’s stand-ins and body doubles—a lineup of little people in costume. She struggled to contain her laughter during her set, adding a lighthearted moment to the evening.
