Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has become a great-grandfather for the first time at the age of 82. His granddaughter, Ella Richards, gave birth to a daughter named Luna, sharing the news on social media as she celebrated her 30th birthday.
Ella, a model signed to Models 1 agency, posted a photo of her newborn with the caption: '30!! best birthday yet with our baby girl Luna.' She had announced her pregnancy in March with a black-and-white photograph showing her baby bump. Ella is in a long-term relationship with photographer Sascha von Bismarck, 31, the younger brother of Kate Moss's ex-boyfriend Nikolai von Bismarck. Kate Moss is also Ella's godmother.
Ella is the daughter of Marlon Richards, Keith's eldest son, and his wife Lucie de la Falaise, a former model and designer. Keith, who has five children and eight grandchildren, reacted to the news earlier this year by saying: 'Sending love and looking forward to welcoming my first great-grandchild!'
Keith's bandmate Mick Jagger also became a great-grandfather in 2014 when his granddaughter Assisi Jackson gave birth to her first child.
