Katie Price has revealed that her missing husband, Lee Andrews, has been located in Al Awir prison in Dubai. The reality star, 48, spoke to him in a two-minute phone call on Wednesday morning, where he claimed he was being held on suspicion of espionage after his arrest on May 14.
Andrews had been missing for two weeks, with his last messages to Price leading her to believe he had been 'kidnapped'. He claimed he was 'arrested' and taken to a 'black site'. Despite initial denials from Price, Andrews' father arranged the phone call from a prison phone box.
Price told The Sun: 'I have found him – he is alive, and he is ok. I told him how worried I had been and told him I loved him. It was very rushed, but he said the authorities out there thought he was a spy.'
However, sources indicate Andrews will be released on Monday after paying a four-figure fine, not for espionage but over a 'private civil matter'. In the UAE, espionage can carry life imprisonment, as seen in the 2018 case of British academic Matthew Hedges.
On her podcast, Price claimed Andrews was 'interrogated, had hoods on him and all' and that his phone was tampered with. She added that she told him he was 'the most hated man in Britain' and that 'everyone thinks this is a scam'.
Andrews had been due to appear on Good Morning Britain with Price but missed the appointment. His background as a CEO and investor was later exposed as a farce, with AI-generated photos and a non-existent company. He also allegedly served time for fraud related to a £200,000 mortgage taken out in an ex-girlfriend's name.
