Reality star Katie Price has finally made contact with her husband Lee Andrews after two weeks of silence, ending a bizarre saga that captivated the nation. The businessman, who had been missing since mid-May, was reportedly detained by authorities in Dubai on suspicion of espionage.
The Disappearance
Price first raised the alarm on 16 May in a YouTube video, revealing that Andrews had not been in touch for three days. She described their last FaceTime call, during which Andrews appeared to have his hands tied and was in a van with white mesh windows. She feared he had been kidnapped or detained.
The couple had been due to appear together on Good Morning Britain on 12 May, but Andrews failed to show. Price initially claimed he was stuck at the airport, but later admitted she had no idea where he was.
The Search
Price contacted the British Embassy and Dubai police, but no record of Andrews could be found. His father claimed he was being held in a prison in Dubai on unknown charges. Meanwhile, The Apprentice star Luisa Zissman flew to Dubai to help search, but returned unsuccessful.
Price faced scepticism from fans who suggested the disappearance was a publicity stunt. She vehemently denied this, calling the accusations "disgusting". Andrews' mother also criticised Price, accusing her of "exploiting" the situation.
The Discovery
On 27 May, Price told The Sun that she had finally spoken to Andrews. "I have found him – he is alive, and he is OK," she said. "He said the authorities out there thought he was a spy. I don't know much more than that right now."
The call was arranged by Andrews' father and took place from a call box in Al Awir prison. Andrews reportedly remains detained in Dubai, with the Foreign Office supporting the family.
What Next?
Price has said she is taking a step back from the case for her own sanity. She revealed she will no longer speak publicly about Andrews until more information emerges. The situation remains unclear, but for now, the mystery of the missing husband appears to be resolved.
