Katie Price's husband, Lee Andrews, has been officially declared missing, five days after the star last heard from him. On Saturday, Katie shared fears that her spouse had 'been kidnapped' and claimed he was 'detained in a van with his hands tied' after his disappearance.
Family Files Report at British Embassy
It has been reported that Lee's family have filed a report at the British Embassy in Dubai, where the businessman resides. Katie previously stated that their last conversation occurred at 10pm on Wednesday as he travelled through the border at Hatta, but his phone then 'went dead'. She added that she had been in contact with the 'head of CID in Dubai', who was unable to locate him but confirmed he had 'not been detained'.
A source close to Katie said: 'Lee is officially a missing person now. Katie is in constant contact with his family and is desperately worried.' The source continued: 'And she's mortified — she's seen people calling it a stunt and that she must be in on it, but she's absolutely not. This is such a worrying, upsetting situation.'
Katie's Public Appeal
In a YouTube update, Katie expressed her concerns: 'I don't know where to really begin, but I know there is all this speculation about Lee when I met him but something really serious has happened. I've been forced that I have to say this now. It was put up on my Instagram that Lee was taking time out of socials because of all the trolling and speculation. I put that up because the truth is, Lee has been missing for three days.'
She added: 'The last time I heard from Lee was Wednesday night at 10pm, he was trying to go through the border in Dubai to get on a flight to me. Lee was trying to get through the border at Hatta, this is so discombobulating, his location went off at 10.03pm on Wednesday night, that's the last contact anyone has had – his family and myself. This is the third day now.'
Kidnapping Fears
Katie elaborated on her fears: 'I've had the head of CID in Dubai trying to track Lee, so far I got a message this morning, that no one can find anywhere in the country that Lee has been detained. We are now wondering, as far-fetched as it is, that he's a missing person now, I don't know if he's been kidnapped.' She continued: 'The unsettling thing for me, the last time I heard from him, he FaceTimed me, he had a hood on and said 'I've just been captured or arrested' and had ties around his hand, not handcuffs, and said 'they're coming back for me'. Then his phone went dead at 10.03pm.'
Background of the Relationship
Lee was due to reunite with Katie for a Good Morning Britain interview on Monday but failed to get on a flight, later claiming he had 'things to do' but was still on his way. Katie, who wed Lee in January following a whirlwind ten-day romance, had branded their relationship a 'soap opera' before seemingly hinting that the marriage was over by emerging without her wedding ring.
On Sunday, Lee's ex Alana Percival claimed he pulled the exact same airport 'stunt' on her as he did to Katie. Alana took to Instagram to share a video clip and message from May 11 last year, showing Lee at the airport saying he couldn't come to the UK because there was a 'flight risk'. Lee and Alana dated for nine months, with the self-proclaimed businessman even proposing to her in an identical proposal to the one he did for Katie.
Katie has also removed a number of recent reunion snaps of the pair from Instagram, leading fans to speculate about the state of their marriage. One fan commented: 'I could be wrong but I swear there were more pictures and recent as well of him. Whether she's starting to get p***** off and she's started removing pictures of him I don't know, but it's not looking good for 'doctor' Lee Andrews.'
