Katie Price has announced she is taking a step back from the ongoing search for her missing husband, Lee Andrews, citing a need to focus on her own mental health. The reality star, who married Andrews four months ago, revealed that she last heard from him on Wednesday, 13 May, when he claimed he was being detained at a 'black site' in the United Arab Emirates.
Price Steps Back Amid Public Scrutiny
In the latest episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, the former glamour model explained that she has decided to stop speaking publicly about the case. 'There's only one person I need to look after and that's myself, so I'm taking a step back,' she said. 'I don't know what's true, what's not true – I don't know. My tentacles are up, my antennas are up and I've decided to take a step back from everything, assess everything in my way and just continue with my life. What will be will be.'
Price acknowledged that she has been reading messages from concerned fans, adding that 'things have crossed my mind' regarding the bizarre circumstances. She stressed that she is not a 'stupid person' and understands how the situation appears to outsiders.
Luisa Zissman Abandons Search
Meanwhile, former Celebrity Big Brother star Luisa Zissman has given up her own search for Andrews after just one day. Zissman had flown to Dubai to investigate but admitted defeat, posting on social media: 'I'm home from Dubai and I've had to admit defeat on finding Lee Andrews so that's the end of that.'
Police Involvement and Podcast Interruption
The case took a dramatic turn on Thursday when Price abruptly ended her podcast episode to take a call from the police. Her sister Sophie stepped in to explain to listeners: 'Sorry about that little intermission. Kate has had to shoot off because she is taking a call from the police so that is it for today's episode.' Price later said she is leaving the matter in the hands of law enforcement.
Who Is Lee Andrews?
Andrews, a Dubai-based businessman who moved from the UK 21 years ago, describes himself on Instagram as CEO of Aura Group Future Urban Travel 2027 and an investor in Space X Hybrid Fitness. His LinkedIn profile also lists him as a doctor, though the source of his PhD remains unclear. He failed to appear for a scheduled joint interview with Price on Good Morning Britain, prompting Price to voice fears that he may have been kidnapped.
The Foreign Office has confirmed it is looking into Andrews' whereabouts, but no further details have been released. Price has repeatedly stated that she has 'absolutely nothing more' she can do and is choosing to focus on her upcoming projects rather than 'sit here and cry'.
