Katie Price's husband, Lee Andrews, was arrested in Dubai, but contrary to her claims, it was not on spying charges. The reality TV star had told the public that Andrews was jailed for allegedly being a spy, but reports now indicate he was detained over a 'private civil matter'.
Andrews, who lives in Dubai, was due to appear on Good Morning Britain last week but failed to make his flight. Katie initially said a business matter kept him in Dubai, but later claimed he had been arrested and was being held in a van with his hands tied. She spoke to him on 27 May and was told he was jailed, despite her earlier denials.
Katie said Andrews told her authorities in the United Arab Emirates believed he was a spy. However, a source has debunked this, stating the detention is related to a civil matter. Andrews is expected to be released on Monday after paying a four-figure fine.
Prior to his arrest, Andrews had moved his belongings out of his rented property and briefly stayed with his father. His whereabouts after that were unknown, leading his family and Katie to file a missing persons report with the British embassy. Katie described her brief phone call with Andrews, during which she told him he was the 'most hated man in Britain'.
