Katie Price has expressed fears that her husband, Lee Andrews, may have been kidnapped after failing to return to the UK and not being heard from for three days. The former glamour model, in a YouTube video posted on Saturday, disclosed that her husband has been missing since Wednesday, with his location switched off and no contact from him.
Katie Price's Full Statement
In her YouTube video, Katie Price said: “Hey everyone, I don’t really know where to begin, but I know there’s all this speculation about Lee from when I met him but something really, really serious has happened.” She explained that she had been forced to speak out because her sister was receiving emails from the media.
She continued: “It was put up on my Instagram that Lee is taking time out from social media because of all the trolling, the media frenzy, the speculation. I put that up because the truth is that Lee has been missing for three days. The last time I heard from Lee was Wednesday night at 10pm. He was trying to go through the border in Dubai to get on a flight to me.”
Katie described the situation as “discombobulating” and noted that his location went off at 10.03pm Wednesday night, which was the last contact anyone had with him. She said: “So this is the third day now. Obviously he phoned me before the location went off. He’s in the middle of nowhere, so obviously I’m worried like ‘what the hell has happened?’”
She mentioned that on Thursday, she still hadn’t heard anything, and her messages were not going through. She contacted his family and the police in Dubai. “I’ve got a head of CID out there and it’s really worrying because me and Lee are in constant, constant contact all the time so it’s really worrying,” she added.
Katie revealed that the police have been unable to locate Lee anywhere in Dubai. “We’re now wondering… as far fetched as it is, well he’s definitely a missing person now, I don’t know if he’s been kidnapped. I don’t know what’s going on. So now no one can find him in any prison, police station, anything, anywhere in Dubai, police can’t find any record of it anywhere.”
She expressed confusion over reports that he had been arrested, noting that the police cannot confirm any arrest. “Someone’s said that he’s been arrested, but what I know is, the police in Dubai can’t find anywhere where he’s been arrested. Now, what makes this even more weird, is 1 o’clock this morning only my messages went on two blue ticks - none of his family’s have - and then the phone went off.”
Katie described the last FaceTime call she had with Lee, where he appeared distressed. “The unsettling thing for me, is that when I last heard from him, he Facetimed me, he had a hood on and he said ‘I’ve just been captured, arrested’ or whatever, I can’t remember the exact words he said but he had ties around his hands, not handcuffs, and a hood. And he’s said ‘look they’re coming back for me, they’re coming back for me’. That is the last FaceTime call I had with him and then his phone went dead at 10.03.”
She added: “So this is a really worrying time for me. Three days, it’ll be four days tomorrow. No contact, no one’s had it no one can find him anywhere, so yeah, I’m really worried. I just don’t know what to do. The police are helping me in Dubai. So, yeah, he’s a missing person as of now and it’s worrying that the last call I had with him he had ties around his hand and a hood. And he was in a van but the van looked like, the windows were white, with mesh on the windows. It was a dirty van. That’s just the last contact I’ve had with him.”
Katie concluded: “And how I’m feeling at the moment, I’m feeling really deflated, unknown. At the end of the day he’s my husband, no matter what anyone ever says, this has happened and it is happening. I don’t know whether I need to fly to Dubai. I don’t know what to do. I’ve got all professional on the case and they’re all saying the same, this is just really weird. The last contact I had, he sounded really worried and he whispered ‘they’re coming for me now, they’re coming for me, I’ve got to go, I’ve got to go’. And that was it.”
She urged the press to help find him and thanked everyone for their support. “I would like to thank everyone for their support, I’m having lots of supportive messages anyway. I don’t know why I’m saying this because it never happens anyway but I wish the press would respect my privacy or can they help try and find him. Help find where my husband is. I’d like to thank everyone and… I’ll keep you updated.”
