Four Kitchen Firms Collapse as Kaboodle Ceases Trading

Four kitchen companies have entered administration or liquidation, with Kaboodle Ltd shutting its doors immediately. The kitchen appliance supplier, founded in 2005, confirmed that BRI Business Recovery and Insolvency has been appointed to place the firm into creditors' voluntary liquidation.

Kaboodle sold home appliances and installation services to retailers and manufacturers across five depots in Leeds, Highbridge, Basingstoke, Telford and Stevenage. The company announced its closure on its website, stating that insolvency practitioners would contact creditors regarding the liquidation process.

Waterline Ltd, established in 1947 and once one of Britain's largest independent wholesale distributors of kitchens and bathrooms, collapsed into administration in October 2025. The firm experienced strong growth between 2021 and 2022 but faltered due to soaring interest rates and the cost-of-living crisis, leading to a sharp decline in consumer spending.

Moores fell into administration in January 2026, resulting in 124 redundancies. The British kitchen firm was partially acquired through a pre-pack deal with Wren Trade Kitchen, with joint administrators appointed on January 19, 2026. Wren Kitchens stated it was well placed to support former Moores customers and suppliers.

A fourth kitchen renovation firm, based in Gloucestershire, collapsed into liquidation at the beginning of the year with debts exceeding £2 million, including over £150,000 owed to staff and nearly £300,000 to HMRC. The company had reportedly received a six-figure Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme loan from NatWest bank.
