Joy Behar Calls Jaxson Dart's Trump Support 'Stupidity and Racist'

Joy Behar has strongly criticised New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart for his public support of Donald Trump, labelling it 'the definition of stupidity and racist'. The co-host of The View made the remarks during Tuesday's episode after Dart introduced the president at a rally in Suffern, New York on Friday.

Behar, 83, pointed to Trump's history of discrimination and racism, including housing discrimination in the 1970s and attacks on DEI initiatives. She noted that more than half of NFL players are Black, saying: 'That is just the definition of stupidity and racist in my opinion.' She added: 'Maybe he needs a little extra padding.'

Fellow panelists Whoopi Goldberg and Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that Dart was entitled to his opinion as an American. The 23-year-old, who finished his rookie season with the Giants last year, had not previously been vocal about his political views before introducing Trump at the campaign event for Republican representative Mike Lawler.

At the rally, Dart led a Giants chant and said he was 'grateful' and 'honoured' before introducing Trump. The president praised Dart as a 'future Hall of Fame-er' and a 'beautiful guy' with 'legs like tree trunks', then launched into a rant against transgender athletes, questioning whether any woman could tackle Dart.

Dart's teammate Abdul Carter also criticised the move, writing on X that he initially thought the video was AI and asking: 'What we doing man?' Dart did not respond to a request for comment on the backlash.
