Johannes Radebe has been confirmed as one of the three new hosts of Strictly Come Dancing, alongside Emma Willis and Josh Widdicombe. The professional dancer, who has been a pro on the show since 2018, said he feels 'deeply honoured' to take on the new role.
The trio will host the programme together for the first time in its 22-year history, replacing Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. The announcement was made on the show's Instagram page, with the caption: 'It's official…September 2026.'
Emma Willis said she cannot 'quite comprehend' landing the prestigious job, while Josh Widdicombe, who took part in the 2024 Strictly Christmas special, said he feels 'overawed' to be fronting the programme. BBC chief content officer Kate Phillips praised their 'undeniable chemistry'.
In a resurfaced interview with Magic FM, Johannes emotionally reflected on his life before Strictly. He said: 'Life wasn't always fabulous. I've had to go through this journey of life, having to still understand whether I'm worth being on earth or not.' He added that the show has affirmed that he belongs in the world.
Fellow pro Dianne Buswell said: 'This is so exciting, particularly excited for our fellow pro @johannesradebe babe you are a true star.' Head judge Shirley Ballas also welcomed the new hosts, saying: 'I am beyond proud of you.'
