Jo Wood has spoken out about stepson Jesse Wood's baby news with his girlfriend, reality TV star Gemma Gregory, following his split from Fearne Cotton. The former model, 71, who helped raise Jesse during her 26-year marriage to Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, is the first family member to comment on the announcement.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Jo revealed her excitement: 'I'm very excited. It's great. I'm really happy for them. Gemma is lovely and a really nice woman. Jesse texted me: "Jo, I've got some great news…" I thought, woohoo! Wonderful!'
Jesse, 49, and Gemma, 40, announced their pregnancy earlier this month, 16 months after Jesse's split from TV presenter Fearne Cotton. Jo praised Gemma, saying: 'Gemma makes Jesse happy. She'll be a great mum. And she's good with Jesse's kids as well.' Jesse shares two children with Fearne and two from a previous marriage; Gemma has an 11-year-old son.
Jo also confirmed that Jesse and Fearne are co-parenting successfully: 'They're good. They've got it all sussed. They're all happy. There's no bitterness or anything like that.' The baby news comes after Jesse revealed financial struggles in court, stating he was living on £1,000 a month after the breakdown of his marriage.
Jo, who divorced Ronnie in 2011, spoke about staying hopeful in love: 'There's always hope - no matter what happens in life, you can never give up. See, I'm still here, still searching for Mr. Right.' She is currently writing a sequel to her debut novel, due next year.
