Jermaine Jenas is reportedly in discussions with talkSPORT about a new radio show, just a month after being sacked by the BBC over a sexting scandal. The married father-of-four has held meetings with bosses at the radio station, with sources suggesting a deal is likely for him to return as a pundit.
The former England international, 41, was abruptly dismissed from the BBC in August for sending 'inappropriate messages' to two female colleagues. He was axed from The One Show and Match of The Day, and later faced similar allegations from other women, which he denied.
According to a source, Jenas is hopeful of agreeing a deal with talkSPORT. 'Jermaine has already held meetings with talkSPORT bosses and both sides are hopeful of agreeing a deal,' the source said. 'He knows he has done wrong, but it shouldn't stop him from having a career in the media.'
However, a talkSPORT spokeswoman denied any current negotiations, stating: 'There have been no conversations with Jermaine since he last appeared on talkSPORT, and there are no plans for Jermaine to broadcast on talkSPORT in the immediate future.'
In a recent Instagram video, Jenas hinted at a return to broadcasting, thanking followers for their support and saying he is looking forward to 'talking about what I love most, which is football.' He added: 'Some exciting stuff that I've been working on, so you'll all have that to look forward to very soon.'
