ITV Viewers Slam Danny Dyer's New Show as 'Traitors Rip-Off'

ITV viewers have expressed their frustration with Danny Dyer and Emily Atack's new gameshow Nobody's Fool, with many switching off within minutes and accusing the programme of being a direct copy of the BBC hit The Traitors.

The Concept of Nobody's Fool

Hosted by actors Danny Dyer and Emily Atack, the quiz-based series brings together ten strangers competing for a grand prize of £100,000. Unlike traditional gameshows, this programme does not test contestants' intelligence but rather how intelligent others perceive them to be. Each participant takes a general knowledge quiz in private, with correct answers adding money to the prize pot. After completing the quiz, players can choose to lie or tell the truth about their performance. The real tension arises during eviction rounds, where contestants must identify the person who contributed the least to the prize fund, based solely on their impressions of fellow players. Success hinges on convincing others that you are clever enough to stay in the game, even if that means deceiving them.

Viewers Accuse ITV of Copying The Traitors

Despite the intriguing premise, viewers were quick to condemn the show for allegedly ripping off the BBC's The Traitors. One viewer wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "So this #nobodysfool is 100% a rip off of #Thetraitors." Fans of the BBC gameshow will recognise that The Traitors is also a game of deception based on players' perceptions of one another. While The Traitors is set in a castle, Nobody's Fool takes place in a manor. Another viewer commented: "Budget version of The Traitors #NobodysFool," while a third added: "#NobodysFool so this is another traitors/fortune hotel rip off."

Mixed Reactions from Audiences

Some viewers were quick to switch off the programme entirely. "Nope 2 minutes in and off #nobodysfool," remarked one disgruntled viewer, while another said: "Nodding off already. Surely not another ITV flop." However, not all reactions were negative. Some ITV audiences are willing to give the gameshow a chance. One viewer praised: "I'm liking #NobodysFool so far not a bad opening." Another concurred: "#NobodysFool seems okay at the moment." A more measured assessment came from a viewer who stated: "Too many shows these days are trying too hard to replicate The Traitors - and failing miserably. #NobodysFool however is decent so far and already a lot better than #TheNeighbourhood."

Nobody's Fool is available to stream now on ITVX.
