I'm A Celebrity contestant AngryGinge, real name Morgan Sam Lee Burtwistle, paid an emotional tribute to his mother during Thursday's episode, revealing she worked three jobs on a council estate to support him. The 24-year-old YouTuber opened up to campmate Alex Scott about his upbringing, finding common ground with the football pundit who also grew up on a council estate.
AngryGinge, from Eccles, Manchester, explained that his mother Michelle raised him as a single parent. 'She'd finish her first job, then go to her second, then her third,' he told Alex. 'If she can do it then I can do this in the jungle, so that's what keeps me going really.'
The star earlier became upset after looking at a framed picture of his family, admitting in the Bush Telegraph: 'It's a bit of a s**t day really, I just feel as though I'm missing home.' His mother later told the Daily Mail she broke down after seeing the emotional scenes, saying: 'I just can't wait to give him the biggest hug on that bridge.'
Elsewhere in the episode, AngryGinge was left fuming after being 'sabotaged' during a trial against rapper Aitch, who turned off the lights in his compartment. Despite the setback, the gamer remains determined, drawing inspiration from his mother's hard work.
