An influencer is reportedly on the run after being sentenced to three years in prison for killing a personal trainer in a road accident. Rosa Iberê Tavares Dantas was convicted of negligent homicide for the death of Talis Roque da Silva in Manaus, Brazil, on August 31, 2023.

Fatal Collision

Disturbing footage captured Dantas executing a dangerous maneuver at a junction before striking Talis, 31, with her SUV. He was thrown from his motorbike and slammed into a metal pole, sustaining multiple fractures. Despite being revived at the hospital, he later died from cardiac arrest.

Contradictory Claims

Dantas, 25 at the time, wrote online: "I provided all necessary assistance at the moment it happened." However, the footage showed no evidence of her offering help. Judge Áldrin Henrique de Castro Rodrigues of the 10th Criminal Court of Manaus sentenced her on May 4 to three years under a semi-open prison regime, allowing daytime work or study but requiring nightly return to a supervised facility. She was also fined and banned from driving for 18 months.

Fugitive Status

Dantas left Brazil for Madrid, Spain, during the court case and is now considered a fugitive. Her name is on Brazil's National Register of Arrest Warrants, and Interpol has been notified. Before the crash, she promoted her tobacco shop and swimwear business to over 50,000 followers, sharing fitness updates, holidays, and exotic pets including three boa constrictors.

She wrote at the time: "What happened today was a great tragedy. Only God and my family know how my heart is." The ruling can still be appealed.
