Brazilian 'Mumfluencer' Dies Aged 27 After Plastic Surgery

A 27-year-old Brazilian social media influencer, Bianca Dias, has died just 18 days after undergoing plastic surgery. The mother of two, known as a 'mumfluencer' to her nearly 60,000 followers, reportedly passed away from a pulmonary embolism.

Her family stated that Dias took a sudden turn for the worse while recovering at their beach house in Guaruja. She was rushed to hospital after experiencing breathing difficulties. The exact procedure she underwent has not been officially disclosed, but followers have speculated it involved liposuction and abdominoplasty, which carry higher risks.

Pulmonary embolisms are a recognised complication of major cosmetic surgeries, particularly when multiple procedures are performed simultaneously. The risk is highest within the first 48 hours but remains significant for up to 20 days post-operation.

Dias, from Maua, Brazil, had a large following on Instagram, where her biography read: 'Living at my own pace, without rushing, and with purpose.' Her funeral is set to take place in her home city.

This is not the first such incident this year. In January, Russian influencer Yulia Burtseva, 38, died after a butt-lift procedure at a private Moscow clinic. She reportedly suffered anaphylactic shock. Brazilian butt-lifts carry risks including fat embolism, which can be fatal.
