Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's testimony before House and Senate subcommittees to justify President Trump’s $1.5 trillion budget request for the U.S. military was interrupted by a protester on Tuesday morning.

Capitol security led the woman out of the room while she was shouting, “If you approve this budget, you will be complicit in the war crimes of this administration,” adding that the Iranian-American community is opposed to the war.
The budget testimony comes a month after Hegseth gave a combative testimony to the House and Senate Armed Services Committee in which he accused congressional lawmakers of being “the biggest adversary.”

Hegseth described the budget as “historic” but “fiscally responsible,” following a previous combative testimony where he accused lawmakers of being “the biggest adversary.” He affirmed the core objective is to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, stating the Department of War is prepared for kinetic and military action if required.
