Graham Norton's acerbic commentary has become an integral part of the Eurovision experience on BBC One, which he has fronted since 2009 after taking over from Sir Terry Wogan. This year, he was on fine form, delivering his trademark gentle teasing and sharp observations.
Among his best moments, Norton commented on the relationship between Spanish duo Alfred and Amaia, giving it 'a month'. He was baffled by Moldova's entry, likening it to 'children's television presenters getting over-excited at their Christmas party'. On Lithuania's Ieva Zasimauskaite, he noted it was 'bring your husband to work day'.
Norton also had strong words for the stage invader who interrupted UK contestant SuRie's performance, stating: 'You should never try and hijack someone's moment in the spotlight, no matter how worthy your cause.' His fashion critiques included remarks on Austria's Cesar Sampson's trousers and Estonia's Elina Nechayeva's projected dress.
