Gogglebox star Shaun Malone was put on the spot by his mother Julie during a recent episode of the Channel 4 show, as she grilled him about his love life. The exchange, shared on Instagram with the caption 'If it feels like an interrogation… it is', saw Shaun attempting to watch television while Julie fired questions at him.
Julie began by asking, 'Are you dating anyone, Shaun?' to which he replied, 'No.' She then rephrased, 'Are you seeing anyone?' but again received a negative response. Undeterred, she asked, 'Are you hooking up with anyone?' and 'Are you talking to anyone?'—each time Shaun answered 'no'. When Julie pressed, 'You wouldn't tell us if you was, would you?' Shaun admitted he wouldn't.
Fans found the interaction hilarious, with many posting crying with laughter emojis in the comments. One viewer commented, 'Every kid EVER,' while another said, 'Ahahaha your mum's great and love you Shaun.' A third added, 'Love this family so much,' and another quipped, 'He can have my number.'
It is not known whether Shaun is currently dating anyone, but in 2020 he welcomed a son named Louis with his then partner Jade. He shared the news on Instagram, saying he was 'super happy' and 'couldn't be more proud' of Jade.
The Malones have been a fixture on Gogglebox for 12 years, debuting in the fourth series. The original line-up included Julie, Shaun, father Tom Sr, and brother Tom Jr, though Tom Jr left in 2021 to pursue other interests. Sister Vanessa Malone has also since appeared on the show.
