The 'Gogglebox curse' has claimed several relationships and lives since the show began in 2013. Recent splits include Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle, who joined in 2022 and were axed last year. Roisin confirmed their breakup on Instagram last month, posting a photo with an 'antidote for a broken heart' envelope.
In 2024, Stephen Lustig-Webb and his husband Daniel announced their separation after six years of marriage, though they continue to share a home. Stephen described the split as 'traumatic' and 'completely devastating', saying he didn't see it coming. Eve Woerdenweber and Jay Makin also split in 2015, with Jay calling it 'completely out of the blue'.
Tragic deaths have also hit the Gogglebox family. George Gilbey died in March 2024 at age 40 after a workplace fall. Mary Cook passed away in 2021 at 92, and Andy Michael died aged 61 that same year. Leon Bernicoff died in 2017, followed by his wife June in 2020.
