Giovanni Pernice has signed up to his first British show since being axed from Strictly Come Dancing, according to reports. The professional dancer will appear on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Win, secretly flying out to Thailand to film the competition.
The 35-year-old left Strictly following allegations made by Amanda Abbington about his conduct during rehearsals. An investigation upheld some complaints of bullying and harassment but cleared him of physical aggression claims. He has consistently denied the allegations.
A source said producers are thrilled by the signing, describing him as a "real housewives’ favourite" with a huge fan base. They added that he is "incredibly fit and mentally resilient" and hopeful he may draw in Strictly fans.
Giovanni is said to be "excited" to return to British TV and looking forward to the challenge. The source noted: "The fall-out from his Strictly exit was also pretty brutal... he reckons there is nothing that can hurt him now."
Since his Strictly exit, Giovanni has worked on the Italian version of the show, Ballando con le Stelle. He previously said he would love to go back to Strictly but does not think they will have him again.
