Gladiators Star Giant Hints at Future TV Work After BBC Axe

Gladiators star Giant, whose real name is Jamie Bigg, has hinted at 'exciting' TV plans after being dropped by the BBC. The 40-year-old athlete claimed he was axed from the rebooted show because the BBC disapproved of his girlfriend's job as an OnlyFans model.

Giant told The Sun: 'TV is something that I would very much like to continue. And having the flexibility and the ability to speak about more taboo subjects is something that moving forward, perhaps, can now happen.' He teased future projects, saying there are 'lots of things in the pipeline' but could not divulge details yet.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain last week, Giant said he had a 'very positive' chat about season three but was later told his contract for season four would not be renewed due to his relationship. He claimed he was 'faced with an ultimatum' and decided to leave, adding: 'I class myself as a role model and one of those values is to stick by the people I love.'

A BBC Gladiators spokesperson previously said: 'After three formidable series, Giant is leaving Gladiators. We'd like to thank him for everything he has contributed to the show and wish him well for the future.'
