A flight attendant has confessed to getting her own back on a rude customer after an 'entitled' passenger refused to listen during a flight. The airline worker shared the 'silent revenge' she carried out following multiple ignored safety requests, aiming to warn others ahead of the busy summer travel season.
The Incident
Responding to a Reddit question about the pettiest form of silent revenge on a passenger, the cabin crew member described how a traveller boarded with a large Hydro Flask and kept leaving it on the floor during boarding. 'It kept getting in people’s way, so I asked her if she could pick it up. She continued to do it when the aisle was clear for some reason. Come take-off, the Hydro Flask ricocheted to the back towards my jumpseat. I could’ve gotten hurt or somebody else!' she wrote.
Frustrated, the flight attendant quietly threw the bottle in the bin without a word. 'The customer kept searching for it the whole flight and the other flight attendants were also making announcements too. They thought somebody stole it,' she added.
Other Stories Shared
The story sparked reactions online, with many flight attendants sharing their own experiences. One recalled how her sister got revenge on a rude businessman who acted superior throughout the flight. 'When he was ready to pay for his drinks, he just held out his credit card into the aisle as if beckoning her to come get it. My sister had had it with him,' they wrote.
After landing, the flight attendant made an announcement asking passengers to remain seated so uniformed military personnel could exit first. 'Of course, you know who was behind her the minute she disarmed the door - Suity McGee. She gave him an icy stare and sent him back to his seat. He had to sheepishly endure the most judgmental walk of shame imaginable,' they explained.
Another flight attendant shared how they dealt with a passenger who repeatedly refused to put away a vape during an overseas flight. After repeated warnings, the crew member noticed the vape had fallen under the seat while the passenger slept. 'I just kneeled behind the row, swept my hand under his seat to fetch the vape, and then turned around and tossed it in the trash. Watching him scramble around looking for his vape during deplaning was glorious,' they admitted.
