First Dates has returned to Channel 4 with a new episode airing tonight, as hopeful singles head to a fancy restaurant in Bath. The beloved dating programme has once again graced our screens, with more singles turning to French maître d' Fred Sirieix and his team in their quest to find love.
Red Flag Bombshell
A First Dates star has raised a major 'red flag' moment just moments into his blind date. The episode features Amber, from Buckinghamshire, meeting James from Oxfordshire, as the pair appear to strike up an instant rapport. However, as the two got better acquainted, Amber enquires: 'When is your birthday?' to which James reveals it falls on April 20.
Amber, declaring it a 'green flag', enthused: 'That's nice, everyone in my family is in April apart from me.' Yet James swiftly dropped a bombshell, teasing: 'Wait until I tell you this next bit.' He went on: 'I have the same birthday as Hitler,' prompting a stunned Amber to simply reply with: 'Oh.'
Date Continues Despite Awkwardness
James, unfazed, quipped: 'So that's kind of a red flag.' Amber remarked: 'I wouldn't shout that out,' as James pressed on. 'I've got no connection to the man at all,' he insisted. In further cringeworthy scenes, Amber said: 'Shall I tell you now or later that I'm Jewish?'
The pair were shown carrying on with their date as Amber gave James another 'green flag' due to his likeness to her celebrity crush, Robert Pattinson. She was also impressed when James revealed he had previously travelled extensively, saying he 'goes away as much as I can.'
Viewers to Find Out Fate
As the date drew to a close, James posed a crucial question that he described as 'telling' of a person – what is your go to meal deal? Will Amber and James find romance in the First Dates restaurant? Viewers will need to tune in tonight to find out. First Dates returns tonight at 10pm on Channel 4.
