In an exclusive interview, Ferne McCann has revealed that God saved her relationship with fiancé Lorri Haines, who she has been engaged to since 2022. The 35-year-old former Towie star, known for her candid nature, opened up about the challenges in their relationship and how faith has strengthened their bond.
Faith Over Therapy
Rather than seeking therapy or counselling, Ferne firmly believes that welcoming God into their lives has saved their relationship. "I really believe that actually welcoming God into our lives and into our relationship, and actually working on the relationship and just being more honest with each other… don't get me wrong, there are still times when I think he's really frustrating, like all relationships," she admitted. "But I strongly believe that having that relationship with God, and strengthening my faith with God and Jesus Christ, and really exploring that, has not only saved our relationship, but has made it even better than when I first met him."
Addressing Split Rumours
The couple, who began dating four years ago and announced their engagement in July 2022, have faced persistent split rumours. Ferne clarified that they have never actually split. "I would be lying if I said there weren't moments that it had both crossed our mind," she confessed. "And that's just me being completely honest, as honest as I probably have been in a long time in an interview." She also addressed photos where she appeared without her engagement ring, explaining its disappearance with a "dog ate my homework" type story that is too ridiculous to share.
Motherhood and Family Life
Ferne, who shares daughter Finty, nearly three, with Lorri and eight-year-old Sunday from a previous relationship, became emotional discussing the end of her breastfeeding journey. "I'm holding back the tears, because obviously this is an emotional call," she said. While she feels broody, she is undecided about having more children. "I quite like my six-year age gap," she noted. "Sunday is in school, and then Finty's almost had this first child experience, because me and Lorri are around. So maybe I'll leave it another five or six years, when I'm 40. That could be quite cool."
Charity Work and Future Plans
Ferne has been announced as a new patron for Little Havens, a children's hospice in Essex. "I had such a joyous, wonderful experience there, meeting some of the families and the children. It's actually a really uplifting place," she said. She also expressed interest in returning to I'm A Celebrity... South Africa, despite her fear of spiders. "Now being a mum, it changes you. When I went in I was 25. I'm 35 now, it's 10 years on and I'm a mum and I'm a completely different person," she explained.
