Kerry Ann Stevens, a 40-year-old former solicitor who was struck off after failing to pay a £60 bill at a Harvester, has been seen enjoying herself at Disneyland Paris while wanted by police. Stevens, who has four outstanding arrest warrants for failing to appear in court, posted a picture on Facebook wearing Mickey Mouse ears and holding a bubble wand.
The mother-of-one, originally from Southend, is believed to be living in the Lorraine area of northwest France with a family member. A family friend told the Mail that Stevens' mother had to inform police that her daughter had left the country, despite pleas from family to stay and face the charges.
Stevens faces 11 counts of leaving without payment and one count of theft from a shop, all allegedly committed in 2024. She denies the offences and is due to stand trial next year. Her alleged accomplice, Daniel Alani, has already pleaded guilty to theft and eight counts of leaving without payment earlier this year.
The pair were first investigated after a dine-and-dash incident at The Castle Inn in Little Wakering, Essex, where they allegedly failed to pay for a meal including prawn cocktail, roast chicken, and drinks. Landlord Ken Todd said the man tried to leave through a locked back door and the woman attempted to escape via a bathroom window.
Essex Police have launched a fresh appeal for information on Stevens' whereabouts. She is described as around 5ft 2ins tall with blonde hair and usually wearing big glasses. Anyone with information is urged to contact police via their website or by calling 101.
