An email allegedly sent by Sarah Ferguson to Jeffrey Epstein in September 2011 congratulates the late financier on the birth of a baby boy. The former Duchess of York wrote that she had heard the news from 'The Duke', a likely reference to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.
In the message, Ferguson stated: 'Don’t know if you are still on this BBM but heard from The Duke that you have had a baby boy. Even though you never kept in touch, I am still here with love, friendship and congratulations on your baby boy. Sarah xx.'
While it has never been confirmed whether Epstein fathered any children, more than 100 people have claimed to be his offspring, with many making claims to his fortune. Epstein’s last-known girlfriend, Karyna Shuliak, was set to inherit most of his possessions under a will changed just before his death in 2019.
In a separate email from the same month, Ferguson suggested that Epstein used her to get closer to Prince Andrew. She wrote: 'You have disappeared. I did not even know you were having a baby. It was sooooo crystal clear to me that you were only friends with me to get to Andrew.'
The messages are among three million documents released by the US Department of Justice on Friday. Appearing in the documents does not imply those named are accused of any wrongdoing. Prince Andrew has repeatedly denied all allegations against him.
Harvey Morse, founder of DNA firm Morse Genealogical Services, claimed in 2020 that 130 people had approached his company after it set up a website named epsteinheirs.com. Morse said: 'There is a reasonable chance he may have fathered a child. He could even be a grandfather.'
