A woman who claims Jeffrey Epstein subjected her to a “vicious, prolonged sexual assault” when she was 15 has filed a lawsuit against his estate and called on Prince Andrew to provide information under oath.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the woman, identified as Jane Doe 15, appealed directly to the Duke of York. “Prince Andrew, and any others that are close to Epstein, should come forward and give a statement under oath on what information they have,” she said. Her lawyer, Gloria Allred, said she had asked Andrew to “voluntarily meet with the FBI and prosecutors” and give a deposition.
The appeal follows a BBC Newsnight interview in which Andrew was questioned about his friendship with Epstein, who killed himself in a New York jail last year after being arrested on sex trafficking charges. Andrew has denied allegations made by Virginia Giuffre that she was forced to have sex with him at the London home of Ghislaine Maxwell, who has also denied wrongdoing.
Jane Doe 15 claims she met Epstein while on a school trip to New York, when her sister invited her to his town house. She alleges that his secretary “groomed” her, took photos, and later invited her and her sister to Las Vegas and to Epstein’s ranch in New Mexico. She says that during her stay at the ranch she was taken to Epstein’s bedroom, where he demanded a massage and then assaulted her with a device. “Epstein took my sexual innocence,” she said.
A lawyer for the executors of Epstein’s estate did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
