Court documents identifying associates of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were unsealed on Wednesday, revealing names including Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and David Copperfield. The documents were filed as part of Virginia Giuffre's lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 for sex trafficking.
The unsealed names had previously been listed as 'J Doe' in court papers. Inclusion does not imply wrongdoing; many individuals were mentioned in passing during legal proceedings. Among the revelations, Maxwell confirmed in a deposition that Prince Andrew visited Epstein's private island in the US Virgin Islands, though she insisted no girls were present during his visit.
Johanna Sjoberg, whom Maxwell allegedly procured for Epstein, testified that Epstein claimed 'Clinton likes them young'. Clinton's spokesperson denied any knowledge of Epstein's crimes. Sjoberg also stated she met Michael Jackson at Epstein's Palm Beach mansion but did not massage him, and that David Copperfield performed magic tricks at dinner and asked if she knew about girls being paid to recruit others.
Donald Trump was mentioned in the documents without accusation of wrongdoing. Sjoberg recalled visiting one of Trump's casinos with Epstein when bad weather diverted their flight. She denied ever giving Trump a massage. The documents also include an account of Sjoberg being shown a puppet of Prince Andrew at Epstein's New York home.
