Emmerdale's Caleb Miligan is set to seek revenge on his nephew Joe Tate, who stole his kidney in a shocking storyline last year. While Caleb initially demanded payback, he appeared to settle things with Kim Tate. However, hints now suggest he will again pursue retribution, this time with help from his wife Ruby Miligan.
Show producer Laura Shaw revealed to Inside Soap magazine that an opportunity for revenge will arise in the summer. She teased: 'We have a story coming up at the depot with Caleb trying to get his groove back, which leads to some problems up there. Going forward, we’ll reach a point where Caleb begins to see an opportunity to get Joe back. He’s not forgotten that Joe stole his kidney, and an opportunity will present itself in the summer that means Caleb and Ruby are working together to get the ultimate revenge on Joe.'
The plot comes as fans have long called for Joe's downfall, with characters like Dawn Taylor and Moira and Cain Dingle previously teased to bring his comeuppance. Now, it appears Caleb and Ruby will be the ones to take him down.
Laura also addressed the return of Graham Foster, saying she had been advocating for his comeback for two years. She explained: 'I think most people thought I was mad when I kept bringing it up at our story conference... In the end, I think I gave a PowerPoint presentation on how he died and then tried to leave no stone unturned as to how he'd survived. The timing felt right.' She added that Graham is 'the final piece of the jigsaw at Home Farm' and cements them as a family.
It remains to be seen whether Graham will support or hinder Caleb and Ruby's revenge plot against Joe. Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
