Emmerdale Boss Teases Graham's Mystery Ally in Kim Tate Plot

It seems Graham Foster's plan against Kim Tate on Emmerdale is set to continue. Now, Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw has addressed the mystery character who is helping Graham. We know that he has teamed up with someone to target Kim, after his recent plan to drug and kill her.

He was on the phone to someone confirming his plan had failed. At the time it wasn't clear if the person on the other end of the phone knew what had happened to Kim or was even in on the plan. Laura has now confirmed that the mystery character is very much in cahoots with Graham, and is also targeting Kim. While Laura didn't say who it was, she gave an update on the storyline and teased it could continue.

What Laura Shaw Said

Speaking to Inside Soap Magazine, Laura said: "You won't find out who that is for a little while! Kim and Graham are always going to be one of those couples where there's a fine line between love and hate. So, while they are plotting against each other, there's still deep love and understanding between them, and they will always have that. Hopefully, through this story, we'll see them coming out of it stronger than ever before."

Laura also teased that there could be more Tate members back in the village soon, as well as Sugdens. She didn't clarify if they were brand new characters, recasts or returning characters. So could this tie in with Graham's mystery accomplice? Laura said: "Well as I said about building the clans, I've been trying to do the same with the Sugdens as well as the Tates. Obviously, Isabel [Hodgins, who plays Victoria] is on maternity leave at the moment, but Sarah's married Jacob. He's taken the Sugden name, and what I want to do over the course of the next few months is remind everyone that Sarah's also a Sugden. But, to answer your question yes, there's going to be a couple of arrivals to strengthen both the Tate and Sugden clans."

Sadie King's Return

It follows the news of Sadie King's return to the show later this year. Actress Patsy Kensit said of her comeback: "I am really excited to return to Emmerdale. I treasure the years I was here before. Sadie King is a character that I really loved playing. The cast and crew are absolutely brilliant and I am so grateful for the chance to return to the show, it's absolutely amazing." It's yet to be revealed why she's returning.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
