Emmerdale arsonist mystery deepens as Robert Sugden is watched by hooded figure

Robert Sugden was being spied on by a hooded figure in Monday's episode of Emmerdale, as the soap's fire storyline took an eerie turn. The identity of the arsonist remains unknown, with Robert growing increasingly anxious about who is targeting him.

Aaron Dingle was on hand to support his partner, vowing to get revenge but refusing to let Robert make himself ill over the mystery. He eventually convinced Robert to take a break from the farm, but as the pair left, a figure in a black tracksuit with a hood up was seen watching Robert walk away.

The sinister moment did not reveal the watcher's identity, but two possibilities have emerged. Spoilers confirm that homeless teenager Kammy Hadiq is set to be discovered hiding in the farm's barns later this week, so it could have been Kammy waiting for the couple to leave. Alternatively, the figure could be the fire starter, ensuring the coast is clear before starting another fire.

Earlier, a credits blunder in last Thursday's episode had fans convinced the soap had given away the arsonist's identity. The episode opened with the hooded figure holding a lighter, and when the end credits listed characters in order of appearance, Kyle Winchester was named at the top, suggesting he was the person in the scene. However, some viewers believe this could be a red herring.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
