Emily Atack Reveals Sepsis After Birth, Slams Weight Trolls

Emily Atack has revealed she developed sepsis after giving birth to her first child, as she hit back at trolls who criticised her weight. The actress, 36, welcomed son Barney in 2024 with fiancé Alistair Garner.

Speaking to Grazia magazine, Atack said she was 'very ill' following the birth and could not leave the house for weeks. 'I had sepsis. It was awful,' she said. The star also opened up about being trolled during pregnancy for being 'enormous', and then after birth for losing weight too quickly.

Atack denied using weight-loss jabs and urged for more understanding. 'Women's bodies change all the time. I am so done with defending it,' she said. She added that she is now doing better and looking forward to her wedding in September.
