EastEnders fans have spotted a tiny detail that may reveal Cindy Beale's answer to Max Branning's proposal, as well as her true motive for their romance. The soap ended before Cindy could respond, but the background song, The Kinks' 'You Really Got Me', has led viewers to believe she will say yes.
However, fans speculate that Cindy's agreement is part of a darker plan. Many believe she is using Max to avenge the death of her son Steven, who died in 2017 due to Max's actions. Max also had a fling with Cindy's daughter Lucy, and was wrongly imprisoned for her murder.
One fan commented: 'Max is just awful... I did giggle when You Really Got Me started playing... if the producers are going for subtle as a sledgehammer foreshadowing of the flashforward then that adds fuel to Cindy being both the bride and playing Max.'
