Deborra-Lee Furness has seemingly taken a swipe at her ex-husband, Hugh Jackman, following his controversial Met Gala appearance with girlfriend Sutton Foster. The 70-year-old actress left a cryptic comment on a social media post by Kerry Washington, promoting her new TV series Imperfect Woman.
In the post, Kerry Washington wrote: 'Eleanor core #ImperfectWomen episode 5 is out NOW. And you cannot trust ANYBODY…EVER.' Deborra-Lee responded: 'HILARIOUS... so true,' which many fans interpreted as a reference to her previous comments about 'betrayal' in her marriage to Jackman.
The comment came shortly after Jackman attended the Met Gala on May 4 with Foster, a move seen by some as a 'final blow' to Furness. The couple, who were married for nearly three decades, announced their separation in September 2023 and finalised their divorce in May 2024.
Furness had previously spoken about the 'traumatic journey of betrayal' following the split, telling the Daily Mail: 'It's a profound wound that cuts deep... This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage.'
Jackman and Foster confirmed their relationship in January 2025, having made their red carpet debut in October 2024. Fans remain divided, with some criticising Jackman's timing and others urging the public to move on.
