David Haye has claimed that Adam Thomas played the 'victim card' during their time on I'm A Celebrity South Africa. The boxer appeared on This Morning to discuss the alleged friction between them, stating that Thomas misunderstood his banter and fanned the flames regarding bullying allegations.
Speaking to presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, Haye said: 'The whole bullying thing, he really fanned the flames on it. I think his angle is to try to play the victim card.' He also alleged that Thomas would feign sickness to avoid trials, only to recover when no trial was scheduled.
When asked if he pushed things too far, Haye replied: 'No, I don't. I just think he's too soft. He can give it, but he can't take it.' He added that the show's editing may have misrepresented the situation, but maintained that Thomas was using victim status to win the competition.
Ben Shephard reminded Haye that Thomas was genuinely ill during the show and had since undergone therapy. Thomas previously posted on Instagram that Haye 'broke' him, but said he had moved on after Haye apologised.
