Dan Walker co-host withdraws bullying allegations

Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije, a former co-host of Dan Walker on Channel 5 News, has formally withdrawn her allegations of bullying and discrimination against him. The decision follows a mutual agreement reached between the presenter, ITN, and Channel 5, according to a statement released by her legal representatives on Friday.

Background of the claims

Ms Vanderpuije, who co-hosted the programme with Mr Walker for a year between 2022 and 2023, had filed claims at a London employment tribunal alleging unfair dismissal, discrimination and harassment on grounds of race and sex, as well as breach of contract. The case was scheduled to be heard before a tribunal.

Statement from legal representatives

In a statement issued on Friday, Ms Vanderpuije's lawyers said: "Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije can confirm that a mutual agreement has been reached with ITN and Channel 5 in respect of the matters subject to Tribunal proceedings. Claudia-Liza fully withdraws her allegations relating to Dan Walker and does not intend to repeat or pursue them."
