Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije has withdrawn all allegations against her former co-host Dan Walker after reaching a mutual agreement with Channel 5 and ITN, her lawyers have confirmed.
The TV presenter had filed claims of unfair dismissal, discrimination and harassment on grounds of race and sex, and breach of contract, relating to her time co-hosting Channel 5 News with Walker between 2022 and 2023. She also alleged a toxic culture of racism, sexism, misogyny and bullying in the newsroom.
Walker, who was listed as a respondent alongside Channel 5, ITN and its chief executive, had been due to appear at an employment tribunal. He had prepared more than 50 character witness statements from sports stars, journalists and colleagues.
In a statement, Vanderpuije's lawyers said: 'Claudia-Liza fully withdraws her allegations relating to Dan Walker and does not intend to repeat or pursue them.' A Channel 5 spokesperson said they strongly rejected the claims and were pleased the matter was resolved, while ITN also denied the claims in full.
Employment judge Emma Webster dismissed all the claims in a minute-long hearing. Walker said he hoped Vanderpuije 'finds peace', adding: 'I firmly feel that I should never have been pulled into this.'
