Cut Melania Trump Joke from Kevin Hart's Netflix Roast

A brutal joke about First Lady Melania Trump was reportedly cut from The Roast of Kevin Hart Netflix special. The roast, hosted by Shane Gillis on Sunday, featured comedians including Pete Davidson, Chelsea Handler, Regina Hall, Draymond Green, Tony Hinchcliffe, and Sheryl Underwood, who took turns roasting Hart and each other.

Unused Joke Targets Tony Hinchcliffe

Madison Sinclair, a comedy writer for the event, shared some jokes that didn't make the final cut with Variety. One joke targeted Tony Hinchcliffe, who previously compared Puerto Rico to "garbage" at a 2024 Trump rally. The joke read: "Tony is like Melania: The only thing relevant about him is that he opened for Trump once." The reason for its exclusion is unclear.

Context of Political Tensions

The revelation comes as President Donald Trump and Melania Trump called for Disney and ABC to fire late-night host Jimmy Kimmel over a joke about the first lady. At the White House Correspondents' Dinner parody, Kimmel joked that Melania had the glow of an "expectant widow." After footage resurfaced following a shooting, Melania urged ABC to take Jimmy Kimmel Live! off air. Trump echoed this, calling Kimmel "in no way funny" on Truth Social and demanding his firing. The show was suspended in September 2024 after Kimmel's remarks about right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk's killing.

Other Cut Jokes

Additional jokes removed from the Netflix special included ones about Lizzo's weight, #MeToo, and Hart's participation in the Saudi government-funded Riyadh Comedy Festival. Hart, 46, appeared unfazed by the jokes that aired. The Roast of Kevin Hart is now streaming on Netflix.
