MAGA Supporter's Wife in Tears After $640 Trump Watch Reads 'Rump'

A MAGA supporter has told how his wife was reduced to tears after a $640 Trump-branded watch arrived with an embarrassing typo. Tim Petit, from Middletown, Rhode Island, purchased the pink limited-edition timepiece from GetTrumpWatches.com as a gift for his wife Melanie.

When the watch arrived, the couple discovered that instead of the word 'TRUMP' on the face, it read 'RUMP'. 'I'm very disappointed. I wanted to do a special thing for her,' Petit told NBC10. 'And we expected that it would have the integrity of the President of the United States and good follow-through.' He added: 'An apology would be nice for making my wife cry.'

After being contacted by NBC10, the company apologised and said it would immediately replace the watch, as well as offering the couple an $800 coupon as a goodwill gesture. Petit said he bought the watch after hearing President Donald Trump's 'voice hawking the watches' on a radio ad. An ad on the company's website features the president saying: 'It's Trump time!'

Small print on the website states that the company 'uses the “Trump” name, image and likeness under a paid license agreement' and that the watches are 'not designed, manufactured, distributed or sold by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or principals'.

Meanwhile, The Trump Store, the official retail website of the Trump Organization overseen by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, has sold at least 622 new products in the first 14 months of Trump's second term, costing nearly $43,000, according to the nonprofit Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. The White House has denied claims that Trump has profited from his time in office.
